Empowering Collections-Based Organizations to Participate in Agenda 2030: The “Our Collections Matter Toolkit”
نویسندگان
چکیده
Collections-based organizations (CBOs) can play a crucial role in addressing sustainable development (SD), but their aspiration to become more sustainable, as seen policies and guidelines, is confronted with several challenges practice. To facilitate sustainability transition, this process of change needs be managed adequate tools adopted implemented. Many exist support transition; however, scarcity centralized resources available CBOs might negatively affect the integration practices work. With aim address gap, ICCROM launched project “Our Collections Matter” (OCM) developed an online toolkit (OCMT) centralize help align work UN Agenda 2030. Recently, workshop was organized professionals field discuss shared aspirations test OCMT. This study reflects on how such centralization contribute overcoming existing CBOs, fostering field. do that, outcomes are analyzed discussed from management perspective, looking at impact that OCM its activities have change, facilitating transition

Empowering Collections with Swarm Behavior
Often, when modelling a system there are properties and operations that are related to a group of objects rather than to a single object. In this paper we extend Java with Swarm Behavior , a new composition operator that associates behavior with a collection of instances. The lookup resolution of swarm behavior is based on the element type of a collection and is thus orthogonal to the collectio...

متن کاملIs Knowledge Emerging in the Secrecy of our Digital Collections?
Object-oriented computer science was created to simulate our activities of placing objects in identified and labeled class structures. As we know, its success was immediate. Recently, an innovative trend appeared. It is characterized by the mobilization of object-oriented computer science for the organization of our collections which are considered like heaps of objects waiting to be classified...
متن کاملA Specimen-based View of the World Using the Biological Collections Ontology to Model Biodiversity Collections
Application ontologies for biodiversity and biomedical specimen data are being developed within the OBO Foundry framework. Both the Biological Collections Ontology (BCO) and the Ontologized Minimum Information About BIobank data Sharing (OMIABIS) are ontologies rooted in specimens and the need to track, share and query data about specimens. In this paper, we briefly describe the structure of th...
متن کاملTemplate Based Structured Collections
Collective operations on distributed data sets foster a high-level data-parallel programming style that eases many aspects of parallel programming significantly. In this paper we describe how higher-order collective operations on distributed object sets can be introduced in a structured way by means of reusable topology classes and C++ templates.
